Endangered Oceanic Manta Ray drawn in a combined style of pointillism and line work. Framed in a thin oak frame with non-reflective, UV-protected glass.
The Oceanic Manta Ray is the largest ray species in the world, and found throughout the tropical and subtropical regions. They spend much of their time in the open ocean and less time in reefs ~ unlike their Reef Manta cousins. Sadly all Manta Rays are threatened by targeted fisheries driven by the demand for their gill plates.
A lot of my art is ocean-themed so as to try and remind people of the beauty of the ocean and the importance of all the animals within it.
Archival ink on 100% Cotton 290gsm Fabriano paper
